Make that First Date Last:
Planning a Romantic First Date By Joseph Baylon
Finally, you got her to agree to go out with you on a date; but don't think you're done with the hard part. Now you have to start planning that romantic first date to make a good impression. Surely the first should be the most memorable, right? How the first date goes is also a girl's indicator if she should go out with you again; so you have to be well-prepared for the event. Planning a romantic first date doesn't need to be overly expensive or cheesy. You have to balance the mood, the conversation, and the flow of the situation. It is vital that you plan ahead; but do not make the whole thing seem like it was written on a script. The goal is for both of you to get to know each other and have a great time. Here's how to make her want that date to last forever. 1. Presents. These
include flowers, gifts or chocolates, toys, etc. It would be good if
you find out ahead what kind of stuff she likes, to avoid giving her
very cheesy items that may change her impression of you. Try to make
the gifts casual, friendly, and light for the first date, like a DVD of
her favorite movie. Whether it's the flowers or the gift, give only one.2. Time. Dates can range from early morning breakfast to midnight snacks, depending on your free time. It's better if you let her pick the date and the time, so she can unwind and relax the time away with you, without having to worry much about undone work and other priorities. 3. Venue. The time can determine the perfect venue for your date. Choose one with a nice view and a calmer crowd, where you can talk and listen to good, light music. It's also important that you consider a place known for its good service because you wouldn't want to risk ruining the occasion by arguing with the manager. The best thing to do is go to the venue the day before your date and talk to the chef, the waitress or the hostess who's going to be serving you, and the manager. Be friendly to these people and, soon enough, you and your date will have the best accommodations. ![]() 4. Food. Plan ahead what you're going to order. Avoid food that are messy and hard to handle, like crabs, exotic food, and anything else that require you to eat with your hands. Also avoid spicy and odorous delicacies because you wouldn't want to spoil your conversation or, if ever, your first kiss, with bad breath. 5. Drinks. When you visit the place where you're planning to have the date, ask the bartender which drinks would be most suitable, and allow him to give you some details and history, especially with wines. When the date comes, be the one to inform your date about the drinks you ordered. It will make you seem more knowledgeable and sophisticated. 6. Music. Also talk to the manager and ask if he could play your music for an hour or so, as long as it's not loud or disturbing. Bring your date's music preference for them to play. 7. Clothes. Dress to impress.
Your attire should be comfortable but neither overly simple nor
exaggeratedly colorful. Bringing a coat would help, so you could offer
it to her if she gets cold.Conversation is probably your greatest means of landing a second date; so it is very important that you know how to listen and respond. Stop staring at her and close your gaping mouth. It's normal to feel a little nervous, but be yourself and act natural. It's very likely she'll enjoy your company just the way you are. She wouldn't have gone out with you if she didn't, would she? 2008 © Associated Content, All rights reserved.
